Altar’d States

Last Friday I visited United Methodist Church in Minneapolis off of Hennepin Avenue. If you are familiar with Minneapolis this church has the large spire by the Lyndale/Hennepin exit of I94. I hope to get some pictures of the exterior when the light is right.

After the organist left I had the sanctuary to myself. It was nice to be so close to the altar where other places you are often restricted. This one was literally right in front of the main aisle. The directional light from the stained glass window to the back left added nicely to the scene.

Looking up to the center is where the spire extends. It was very dark in the church except for the stained glass.

While the church is beautiful and awe inspiring it was also a bit eerie in some ways especially with no one around.
